Utility Service Request Form

The City of Van Meter provides water, sewer, garbage and recycling to active accounts located within city limits. Service requests submitted online must be submitted at least 48 hours prior to the start or end of service.

Water & Sewer rates are determined by consumption. Garbage is set by a flat fee. Extra garbage and/or recycling cans are available upon request at an additional charge. The minimum billed consumption is 2,000 gallons. Meters are read by the Public Works Department between the 22nd and 26th of each month. Utility bills are sent no later than the last day of each month. Utility bills are due on the 15th of each month. Bills not paid when due shall be considered delinquent. A one-time late payment penalty of 10 percent of the amount due for water and sewer charges shall be added to each delinquent bill. The late payment penalty shall not apply to the delinquent solid waste fees.
