Dallas County Housing Trust Fund

The Dallas County Local Housing Trust Fund (DCLHTF) mission is to “provide and expand safe and affordable housing to low income residents of Dallas County.” The Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program administered by the DCLHTF assists homeowners within Dallas County with housing repairs and correcting code violation. Eligible repairs include basic structural repairs, building systems (electrical, plumbing, heating), weatherization and handicap accessibility.

Van Meter Youth Soccer Spring Registration

VM Youth Soccer Spring registration is now OPEN! This includes students who are 4 to 16 years old (U6-U16 aged teams). This is the same site we used in the Fall. If you had a participant, please use the same login information.

Please contact jay.olson@vmbulldogs.com if you have a financial hardship and cannot afford the fees.

For all ages: Parents will be contacted in early March once teams are separated and determine coaches. From the website, you will see two different registration buttons to click on. One is for registering players and the other is for coaches who wish to volunteer, which we hope you consider. The first weekend of games is currently set for April 6/7.

If your child played U8 – U14 in the Fall and their uniform still fits, please select “Does not Need” in the uniform pull down menu. If they did not play, they will need to order a uniform kit (2 jerseys, shorts, socks) for the upcoming season. Other items and pricing can be located at https://www.challengerteamwear.com/…/vanmeterteamstore/index

Deadline for registration is January 11th.

Service Line Coverage from SLWA

The exterior water and sewer service lines that run from the utility main to your home is your responsibility as the homeowner. If you were unfortunate enough to suffer a break or burst in one of those lines, you would be responsible for the repair.

Repairs can cost thousands of dollars. The City recently partnered with Service Line Warranties of America (SLWA) to help eligible homeowners be prepared and to have the best possible service in the case of such an emergency. This optional coverage provides protection for service line repairs with as many service calls as you need up to $8,500 per call and no deductible. You will also have access to a 24/7, 365-day-a-year emergency repair service hotline.

If you would like to sign up for this plan, simply call toll-free 1-844-257-8795 or for fastest processing visit www.slwofa.com.
